"I am neither spurred on by excessive optimism nor in love with high ideals, but am merely concerned with the fate of the individual human being...that infinitesimal unit on whom a world depends, and in whom, if we read the Christian message aright, even God seeks his goal."
Dr. C.G. Jung, ' The Undiscovered Self '

What astrology is...and what it is not

The word 'Astrology' comes for the Greek words,'astron', meaning star and 'logos' meaning word or speech.

Astrology is foundation based in the premise that the heavenly bodies have certain characteristics in their cycles that move energy through our individual lives and the course of humankind.

While that premise may seem implausible to the 21st Century indoctrinated mind, astrology still exists and continues to be studied, researched, practiced and applied by those open to and curious about that which can illuminate the human mind even if it is not something widely acknowledged or accepted.

Astrology is a language of mathematics, empirical observations and symbols that require both the practical mind and the intuitive mind  to be utilized and understood.  The subject of astrology deals with relationships to the whole.  Conscious effort, time and patience is needed to fully work with the tools astrology brings forward.

Astrology when viewed as a system, relates all parts to a greater whole and places that whole into unity of being and purpose.

A discipline of thought that is based on the concepts of universality, syntheses, evolution and free will of choice.  A philosophy of divine order and purpose, of a grand design in which everything and everyone plays a part..a part initially offered, yet ultimately chosen.

Astrology is not concrete in that it is subjective as well as objective.  It is not a crystal ball nor a cure-all, as it is still human choice that ultimately determines growth and evolution.

As one very wise Astrologer wrote: "The stars impel, but they don't compel."

Nor is Astrology perfect.  Much like any science, our human understanding of it is incomplete although ever expanding.  As the human mind evolves, so does it's capacity to understand and use through that understanding the infinite wisdom of the Universe, much of which still remains untapped.
